Katalon True Production Insights (formerly TrueTest) is a production-insights module within the Katalon True Platform that ingests anonymized production telemetry, session traces, and event data to build a real-user journey map, then compares it against an existing regression-testing journey map to surface coverage gaps. It automatically generates executable UI and API test cases for the missing flows, which can be reviewed in Katalon Studio or the Platform before being promoted to regression suites; generated artifacts are version-controlled in a connected Git repository. The tool uses contextual locators and parameterization to handle dynamic, highly interactive interfaces, and continuously re-ingests production behavior to flag and suggest updates when application behavior changes. It supports cross-application journey tracking for apps spanning multiple domains or micro-frontends. Sensitive data such as passwords and PII is automatically masked. Setup requires a Platform tenant, telemetry forwarding, and a writable repository for generated tests, making it best suited for enterprise QA teams with established test suites and production traffic.
